Abstract

Natural learning model around with audio visual media is a learning model that has characteristics utilizing the environment around both physical, social, technological, and cultural environments as the object of learning, so as to improve the activity and learning outcomes of students. This study aims to determine the activity and learning outcomes of students through the application of JAS learning model with audio visual media on the material identification of the characteristics of living things. data collection in this study using pre experimental method with one-group research design pre-test post-test design. The population in this research is all students of class VII of SMP Negeri 3 Kuta Cot Glie Aceh Besar which amounts to 28 students consisting of one class, while the sample in this research is 28 students by using saturated sampling technique, because the sample is less than 30 students. Technique of collecting data by using observation and test. The results showed that the student activity at the meeting I categorized active is 70.98, while the student activity at the second meeting is categorized active is 76.56. The average pre-test result is 30.43 while the post-test is 74.14. The result of thitung data analysis> ttable, Because thitung = 15, 12 and ttable = 2.05, thus tcount> ttable or 15,12> 2.05, so H0 rejected, Haditerima. It can be concluded that the application of JAS learning model with audio visual media on the material identification of the characteristics of living things can improve student activity and learning outcomes.
