Abstract

This study aims to describe in depth the classroom management strategies at MTsS Darul Ihsan Abu Hasan Krueng Kalee and their contribution to increasing student learning motivation. This research is based on the Self- Determination Theory (SDT) framework, which focuses on fulfilling basic psychological needs, namely autonomy, competence, and relatedness. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, where primary data were obtained through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation techniques. The results indicate that teachers implement comprehensive strategies, including comfortable and ergonomic classroom arrangements, participatory agreement on class rules, educational discipline enforcement, and systematic lesson planning through modules and lesson plans(RPP). Furthermore, the use of varied methods such as interactive quizzes, educational games, and the provision of rewards has proven highly effective in increasing students' enthusiasm and learning motivation in the classroom. These management strategies contribute positively to reducing learning boredom and encouraging active student engagement through a humanistic approach and the optimal fulfillment of basic psychological needs. Thus, structured classroom management becomes a key factor in the success of the learning process in this madrasah.
