Altruism Values in Educational Movie: A Literary Criticism Analysis of "The First Grader"

This research entitled Altruism Values in Educational Movie: A literary Criticism Analysis of “The First Grader”. This research aims to analyze the altruism value contained in The First Grader and to study about literary criticism analysis contained in the movie. The researcher used descriptive qualitative analysis. The data were collected by analyzing the subtitles and dialogues: the researcher watched the movie and read the subtitles, classified, explained the situation and concluded. The result of the research showed that the movie has the generosity and self sacrifice aspect of altruism and contained two literary criticisms which are structuralist criticism and feminist criticism.
