Analisis Kepribadian Tokoh Utama dalam Cerpen "Al-Musiqul 'Asyiqi" Karya Ali Thantawi Kajian Psikologi Sastra

This study aims to analyze the personality of the main character in the short story AlMusiqul ‘Asyiqi by Ali al-Tantawi using a literary psychology approach based on Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalytic theory. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a library research design. The data were collected through reading and note-taking techniques on excerpts related to the personality aspects of the main character. The primary data source is the short story “Al-Musiqul ‘Asyiqi” by Ali Thantawi, while the secondary data sources consist of books, scientific journals, academic articles, and previous studies relevant to literary psychology. The data were analyzed based on Freud’s concepts of id, ego, and superego. The findings reveal that the main character possesses a complex personality characterized by strong emotional impulses toward music and love, inner conflicts with family and society, the ability to face life’s realities, and feelings of guilt. The id appears to be the dominant aspect, while the ego and superego function to adjust the character’s desires to prevailing social norms and moral values.
