Abstract

Feelings of insecurity have become increasingly prevalent among students and may negatively affect their self-confidence, psychological well-being, and personal development. While studies on insecurity are largely grounded in contemporary psychological perspectives, the integration of Islamic mindfulness and Qur’anic teachings remains relatively underexplored. This study aims to formulate an Islamic Mindfulness Model based on the tadabbur of QS. al-Isra’: 70 as an alternative framework for managing insecurity among students. This study adopts a qualitative library research design employing comparative exegesis and conceptual analysis. Data were collected from classical and contemporary tafsir works, relevant books, and scholarly articles, and were analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings reveal that the proposed Islamic Mindfulness Model consists of three interconnected dimensions: (1) self-awareness grounded in muraqabah, (2) self-acceptance rooted in the values of rida and tawakkal, and (3) awareness of human dignity (karamah al-insan) as emphasized in QS. al-Isra’: 70. These dimensions contribute to the development of a positive self-concept, strengthen self-worth, reduce excessive social comparison, and enhance emotional and spiritual resilience among students. The study argues that the integration of Qur’anic reflection and Islamic mindfulness offers a holistic approach to addressing insecurity by combining psychological insights with Islamic values. Therefore, this model may serve as a conceptual framework for promoting students’ mental well-being and personal growth within an Islamic educational context.
