Efektivitas Bimbingan Kelompok untuk Mengurangi Perilaku Agresif Verbal Peserta Didik di MAN 3 Banda Aceh

Poor social interaction in schools often triggers verbal aggression, which becomes an interpersonal issue among adolescents. This negative communication pattern damaged social relationships and caused recurring conflicts that potentially escalated into physical aggression. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of group guidance services in reducing verbal aggression behavior among students at MAN 3 Banda Aceh. This research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest- posttest design, without a control group. The research subjects consisted of eight students selected through purposive sampling based on moderate to high levels of verbal aggression. Data were collected using a verbal aggression scale and analyzed using the paired samples t-test and normalized gain score test. The results showed a significant decrease in the mean verbal aggression score from 76.5 at pretest to 52.6 at posttest. The paired samples t-test revealed a significance value of p < .001, indicating a statistically significant difference between the two measurements. The average normalized gain score was 0.57, classified as moderately effective. These findings indicated that group guidance services contributed to reducing students' verbal aggression behavior.
