Kepribadian Introvert dalam Cerpen Al-Mughaffalin Karya Taufiq Al-Hakim: Kajian Psikologi Sastra

This study aims to analyze the introverted personality of the main character in Taufiq al-Hakīm's short story Madrasah al-Mughaffalīn based on Carl Gustav Jung's theory of personality. The novelty of this study lies in revealing the main character's introverted tendencies based on Jung's four psychological functions. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a literary psychology approach. The data consist of written data found in Madrasah al-Mughaffalin that indicate the main character's personality tendencies based on Jung's theory. Data were collected through reading and note-taking, literature study, close reading, and manual coding techniques. The data were analyzed through the stages of identification, classification, interpretation, and conclusion drawing to examine the data indicating the main character's personality tendencies. The results show that the main character exhibits an introverted personality type reflected through four functions: introverted thinking, characterized by a tendency to think critically and form subjective judgments; introverted feeling, characterized by the ability to regulate emotions, strong emotional experiences, and sudden emotional outbursts; introverted sensation, characterized by attention to sensory experiences and a tendency to become immersed in physical sensations; and introverted intuition, characterized by the ability to perceive possibilities and determine courses of action based on internal understanding. These four functions indicate that the character's responses to the social environment are influenced by the way he processes and interprets experiences based on his internal orientation. This study is expected to contribute to the development of literary psychology studies in literary works.
