Abstract

The development of Islamic banking in Indonesia has encouraged the emergence of various Shariabased investment products, one of which is the Gold Installment Financing product based on the murabahah contract offered by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). This product serves as a safe, affordable, and Sharia-compliant investment alternative. This study aims to analyze the influence of knowledge, perceived ease of use, perceived Sharia compliance, and trust on the motivation to invest in gold through murabahah-based gold installment financing among customers of BSI Banda Aceh. This study employed a quantitative approach with a causal associative research design. The sample consisted of 100 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. The results indicate that knowledge has a positive and significant effect on investment motivation (β = 0.370; t = 3.526; p = 0.000), and trust also has a positive and significant effect (B = 0.476; t = 3.586; p = 0.000). In contrast, perceived ease of use has no significant effect on investment motivation (B = -0.005; t = 0.042; p = 0.967), nor does perceived Sharia compliance (B = 0.120; t = 0.881; p = 0.378). The Adjusted R² value of 0.793 indicates that the model explains 79.3% of the variance in investment motivation. This study concludes that knowledge and trust are the primary factors driving customers' motivation to invest in gold through BSI's Gold Installment Financing product.
