Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the implementation of curriculum 2013 at MTsN 2 Aceh Barat Daya, and to explain the obstacles faced by English teachers in implementing Curriculum 2013 in the teaching and learning process at MTsN 2 Aceh Barat Daya. The data were analyzed descriptively by using the qualitative approach. The technique of data collection used are interviews and documentation. The result of the research indicates the implementation of the curriculum 2013 in MTsN 2 Aceh Barat Daya was carried out in accordance with the patterns and systems set by the government. The curriculum 2013 makes students more active and easier for teachers in the teaching and learning process. Whereas the difficulties in the implementation of the curriculum 2013 at MTsN 2 Aceh Barat Daya are the books is not distributed to all students which textbooks are prepared by the subject teacher discussion team (MGMP) and books directly published by the government, and the system or the assessment format in the curriculum 2013 is very complicated and there is still a lack of learning facilities and infrastructure.
