Abstract

This thesis discusses the result of the study on The Implementation of Graphic Organizer Strategy in Improving Students’ Skill in Writing Descriptive Text in a Senior High School. The main purpose of this research is to know the significant difference of students’ achievement before giving the treatment and after given the treatment, in this case the researcher explain and teach the students by using graphic organizer strategy. The sample of this research is the first year students of SMA 11 Banda Aceh in the academic year 2015/2016. The results indicate that there is a significant improvement in students’ writing ability, as can be seen from the result of the t-test. From the result of statistic calculation, it indicate that the value of the T-s is 3.949 with the degree of freedom (df) 37. In this research, the writer uses the degree of significance in the level of 5% of df 37 is 0.02. Since T-s score in the table is higher than T-t score in the level 5% obtained from the result of calculating, the Research Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the Null Hypothesis (Ho) is rejected.
