Students’ Barriers in Online Learning During the Covid-19 Outbreak (a study at the Student of English Department of UIN Ar-Raniry)

This study aims to determine student barriers in online learning during the covid-19 outbreak. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive. This study consists of three research questions to answer the problems in this study. There were 6 PBI students’ batch 2018 who were interviewed based on criteria and were semi-structured interviews. The results showed that students faced many barriers when involved in online learning. These issues are caused by internal and external factors, such as (1) lack of student motivation in learning, (2) time management, (3) students are not agile or the learning system is quite adaptive. (4) internet network disturbance. (5) Insufficient device. (6) Lack of tech-Savvy Lecturers (7) Limited Internet Packages. From the barriers experienced by students, it becomes a challenge for students by implementing the right solutions in overcoming the barriers experienced by students when carrying out online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
