Profesor Mahmoud Mustafa Ayyoub: His Contributions and Dedications to Islamic Thought and Interfaith Dialogue

Mahmoud Mustafa Ayyoub is one of the preeminent scholars in his field. He was bom in South Lebanon. He received his education at the American University of Bairut, and gained his bachelor degree in Philosophy in 1964. He graduated from the University of Pennsylphania for M.A, in Religious Thought, 1966, and received his Ph.D. in History of Religion, 1975 at Harvard University. He is a brilliant, accomplished, and generous person. He is someone who is deeply committed to dialogue. With his insider’s understanding of Islam and Christianity, he is uniquely placed to help building bridges across this charms. For his students, he is not only as a teacher but also as a friend, and father. Since I was student at Temple University until today, I will always remember him as a profoundly decent man. He has been generous, insighful and modest, never fosing an ideological position. He is a wonderful human being: it’s a privilege to know of and to learn from him.
