Abstract

The Lhokseumawe City Library is a public space where various collections of books are provided by the government for free to the public. The library is expected to increase the number of readers of Lhokseumawe city books. Both from the level of kindergarten, students, college students and the general public. The role of the library is very important in order to support the needs of the community to obtain various scientific references that will improve the ability and quality of the population. Interest in reading determines the quality of the population, and the library is present as a place that can meet reading needs. The Lhokseumawe City Library is classified as a public library and the users who use this library are all residents of Lhokseumawe City. In planning a quality library, it must pay attention to the functions that support the activities in it. Existing facilities must support both disabled and non-disabled visitors who will come to the library. The design theme of the Lhokseumawe City library takes a metaphor design. The design of the Lhokseumawe City library applies metaphor architecture to the exterior and interior of the building, which is expected to attract visitors and facilitate the library both digitally and non-digitally.
