Abstract

Learning model is needed to achieve an active learning process (student center), in fact not all teachers use the model of learning and utilization of instructional media. So students generally in the class often feel saturated in the learning process. For example, sleeping in class, playing games when teachers explain the material, disturbing friends who learn and make a commotion when teachers teach. Therefore researchers use the learning model of student facilitator and explaining with the formulation of the problem is how the teacher activity, student activities and improving student learning outcomes by using the model of student facilitator and explaining on science learning in class V of MIN Merduati Banda Aceh. This study aims to determine the activities of teachers, student activities and student learning outcomes through the application of models student facilitator and explaining. This research is a Classroom Action Research with the subject of student research in class V of MIN Merduati Banda Aceh which amounted to 37 students. This research takes two cycles of each cycle including planning, action, observation and reflection. The data were obtained through observation and test observation sheet instrument and in if using the average formula and percentage. Based on the results of research for two cycles showed the results of learning in the first cycle with the acquisition value of 56.75% while in the second cycle increased 78.37%. Student activity in cycle I with average value 3,2 (good) experience improvement in cycle II with average value 3,68 (very good). Teacher activity in cycle I with an average score of 3.47 (good) has increased in cycle II with an average value of 3.82 (very good). Thus it can be concluded that the application of model student facilitator and explaining on material changes in the properties of objects can improve student learning outcomes in class V of MIN Merduati Banda Aceh.
