Developing Generic Skills in the Department of English Education Curriculum of UIN Ar-Raniry

This study entitles Developing Generic Skills in the Department of English Education curriculum of UIN Ar-Raniry. Generic skills are very important for students to learn and to master. Department of English Education needs to provide generic skills in their curriculum in order to help their students after graduate in confronting the workforce. This research aims to know how to develop generic skills in Department of English Educations’ curriculum and how to integrate Islamic values with generi c skills. This research used qualitative approach, where the researcher used interview as the technique of data collective. The result of this research show that there are some ways to develop generic skills in curriculum of Department of English Educations’ curriculum; developing the program of study, providing subjects related to generic skills, integrate it into study, also Islamic values can be learned and integrated and implemented into study.
