Modul English for Academic Purposes Semester Genap 2023-2024

This course helps students learn how to use English language as a medium of interaction for academic purposes in higher education, which include mastering critical reading approaches, producing an effectively, well-organized, persuasive, well-reasoned research essay, and effective presentation skills. The area in this course is on practical advices and skills that will prove immediately useful to students-recommended procedures, emphasized and detailed examples of academic reading, academic writing, and presentation skills, which are provided throughout. The unit concentrates on the fundamentals of academic reading, academic writing, and academic vocabulary. It offers a straightforward, systematic introduction to some of the key elements of the construction of arguments in a paper. Planning and outlining a paper, avoiding plagiarism, critical thinking, finding key points and note-making, paraphrasing, summarizing, combining sources, writing strong introduction, literature review, discussion, and conclusions are among the important topics discussed.
