Abstract

This study aims to find out the teachers' and students' perceptions of using Flipped Classroom in language teaching at MTsN 1 Aceh Besar. Flipped Classroom is one of model learning where the students attempt to learn the learning material delivered by the teacher before attending class and doing practice in class. This research was designed by using qualitative method. The data was gathered through interviews. The sample was three teachers and five students. The result showed that teachers and students are interested in using Flipped Classroom in language teaching. Flipped Classroom brings many advantages for teachers: Time efficiency, facilitating learning motivation, and facilitating students’ activeness in learning. In learning English Flipped Classroom also brings advantages for students: An interesting approach, facilitating of understanding learning material, and improving students' vocabulary. Finally, findings of positive teachers' and students' perceptions have been revealed as advantages, Flipped Classroom model encourages students' achievement in language teaching. This learning model is very effective applied in language teaching.
