Abstract
Vocabulary plays a crucial role in language learning because it directly impacts students’ ability to communicate effectively. To promote vocabulary growth, the Ulumul Qur'an program assigns weekly vocabulary tasks organized by the student organization HISTAQ. However, students’ perspectives on the program's implementation remain underexplored. This study aims to investigate students’ perspectives on weekly vocabulary tasks, focusing on the perceived benefits and challenges of vocabulary learning. A qualitative case study design was employed, and data were collected through semi-structured interviews with three students and the Head of the Language Department. Purposive sampling was used to select participants with diverse levels of English proficiency. The findings reveal that students generally perceive the weekly vocabulary tasks positively. Participants reported that the program improves vocabulary retention, enhances confidence in using English, and provides consistent exposure to new words.
