Abstract: Domestic Violence (DV) is a complex phenomenon that has a serious impact on the welfare and safety of individuals, families, and communities. As a crucial social problem, DV requires proper attention and handling to reduce its negative impacts. This study aims to determine the variants of domestic violence in Gampong Alue Naga, Syiah Kuala District, Banda Aceh City, to determine the understanding of the people of Gampong Alue Naga, Syiah Kuala District, Banda Aceh City regarding variants of DV and what factors influence them, and to determine the impact of domestic violence in Gampong Alue Naga, Syiah Kuala District, Banda Aceh City. Data collection was carried out through observation and interviews with the Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Agency (DP3A) of Banda Aceh City as officers who handle violence against women and children, including DV. The results of the study indicate that: a) Variants of DV in Gampong Alue Naga, Syiah Kuala District, Banda Aceh City are physical violence, psychological violence, economic violence, sexual violence, and neglect; b) The understanding of the people of Gampong Alue Naga, Syiah Kuala District, Banda Aceh City regarding cases of domestic violence is still very limited. People generally know that there is domestic violence if there is physical violence such as being hit, kicked, and so on. In addition, people think that domestic violence only applies if the husband hits his wife, even though domestic violence has a broader scope. The factors that influence domestic violence in Gampong Alue Naga, Syiah Kuala District, Banda Aceh City are the existence of infidelity by one of the parties, namely the husband or wife, as well as economic problems. This triggers arguments and emotions so that domestic violence cannot be avoided; c) The law that regulates Domestic Violence (KDRT) is Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence (PKDRT Law); and d) The impact of domestic violence in Gampong Alue Naga, Syiah Kuala District, Banda Aceh City is very broad and can affect victims physically, psychologically, and socially.
