Abstract
This study aims to describe the strategies usedby teachers in developing fine motor skills ofearly childhood learners at PAUD HarsyaCeria. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collectiontechniques consisting of observation,interviews, and documentation. The researchsubjects included teachers and earlychildhood learners who participated in finemotor learning activities. The results indicate that teachers implemented well-planned strategies throughopening activities, core activities, reflection,and closing sessions. During the coreactivities, teachers employed various taskssuch as drawing, coloring, cutting, pasting,threading, as well as life skills activities including opening and closing bottles andbuttoning clothes. These strategies weretailored to the individual abilities of children,including children with special needs,ensuring that each child received equal learning opportunities. Teachers also integrated play-basedapproaches, demonstrations, directassistance, and scaffolding to help children coordinate finger and hand movements.Evaluation was conducted throughobservation and assessment of children’swork. Overall, the implemented strategiesproved effective in improving fine musclestrength, hand–eye coordination,concentration, and children’s independence. These findings emphasize the importance ofvaried and adaptive learning planning inoptimizing the development of fine motorskills in early childhood.
