Abstract
This study aims to explore Indonesian English as a Foreign Language participants’ perceived benefits and challenges of using the Fondi application’s three main features in supporting speaking fluency development. This study employed a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with six Indonesian EFL participants who had experience using all three features. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that the Fondi application provides meaningful opportunities for real-time speaking practice. Free Space encourages spontaneous communication and confidence, Community Events provide structured discussions that support idea organization and conversation flow, and VIP Events offer guided speaking practice with feedback from Buddies that help improve accuracy and consistency. However, several challenges were also identified, including difficulties in finding consistent speaking partners in Free Space, inconsistent participation in Community Events, and payment-related access in VIP Events.
