Teacher Experience On The Use Of Visual Dictionary In English Vocabulary At Elementary School (A Study At MIN 2 Kota Banda Aceh)

This study aims to explore the teacher’s experience in using printed and digital visual dictionaries for learning English vocabulary at MIN 2 Kota Banda Aceh. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and documentation involving an English teacher asthe participant. The findings showed that the teacher used printed and digital visual dictionaries to introduce vocabulary through pictures, explain word meanings, practice pronunciation, and engage students in interactive activities. The teacher perceived that both formats supported students’ vocabulary comprehension, motivation, and participation. However, the teacher faced challenges in selecting appropriate visual materials and addressing students’ different levels of vocabulary proficiency. The study concludes that printed and digital visual dictionaries can support English vocabulary learning at the elementary school level.
