Abstract

This research focuses on the management of TikTok as a digital publication media at SMK Negeri 5 Telkom Banda Aceh. Taking into account technological advances. The vocational school background and urban location require social media users to use publicity to attract interest and provide information to parents and the community at large. This research aims to explore the management of TikTok in schools. The mechanism for providing content, and its positive impact on SMK Negeri 5 Telkom Banda Aceh. Using Qualitative research methods, these findings highlight the importance of TikTok for educational publications, requiring careful content planning and monitoring to prevent misinformation. Managing TikTok involves careful planning, design of uploaded content, production, monitoring and evaluation of content that has been or will be uploaded. Providing content at SMK Negeri 5 Telkom Banda Aceh involves optimizing TikTok features, utilizing supporting facilities, utilizing skilled human resources, planned uploads and using trending or viral hashtags. With this, the positive impacts provided include increasing student creativity and innovation, increasing the number of new student registrants, increasing student participation in multimedia majors and the effectiveness of promotions and as a medium for interaction with the audience. Thus, TikTok media as a means of digital publication has brought many benefits to SMK Negeri 5 Telkom Banda Aceh.
