Apostasy is part of a very big sin. This action can invalidate all the good values he had when he was still a Muslim. The legal basis that makes apostasy a criminal offense is the verse of the Koran which clearly states that a person who leaves Islam (apostates) is an infidel, and all his religious deeds will be erased. This research aims to see the suitability of the substance of the implementation of Aceh Qanun Number 8 of 2015 which is related to the guidance and protection of aqidah for apostate Jarimah perpetrators. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method. Meanwhile, this type of research is a case study. The results of this research indicate that the mechanism for implementing Aceh Qanun No. 8 of 2015 for perpetrators of apostasy is stated in Articles 18 and 19, namely: every person who deliberately makes a statement or act outside of Islam will be given punishment in the form of whipping or imprisonment or a fine. Likewise, he will be given uqubat guidance so that he returns to Islam. The Syar'iyyah Court itself is still given authority that focuses on criminal matters contained in Aceh Qanun No. 6 of 2014 concerning Jinayat Law. Even if a case occurs and detention can be carried out by the police, it is only within the authority of the local government, but this is still legally flawed because there is no certainty about the judicial institution that will try cases of apostasy in Aceh Qanun No. 8 of 2014 concerning the Development and Protection of Aqidah.
