Abstract
Low motivation and learning outcomes among students at MAT Daarut Tahfizh Al- Ikhlas, especially in the human respiratory system topic, stem from teacher-centered and conventional learning methods. This study aims to examine the effect of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model on student motivation and learning outcomes. Using a true experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group, class XI-3 was the experimental group (Jigsaw model), and class XI-2 served as the control group (conventional model). Data were collected through motivation questionnaires and learning tests, analyzed using N-Gain. Results showed a significant improvement in the experimental class, with an average N-Gain of 0.72 (high category), compared to 0.43 (medium) in the control class. Student motivation in the experimental class also reached the “very high” category. These findings indicate that the Jigsaw model effectively enhances student motivation and learning outcomes in biology.
