Abstract

In today’s digital era, educational practices have developed significantly, particularly in language learning, where students increasingly utilize online platforms to access materials beyond the classroom. In the context of English as a foreign language, listening remains one of the most challenging skills due to limited exposure to authentic input, variations in accents, and differences in speaking speed. As a response to these challenges, audio streaming platforms such as Spotify have emerged as potential alternative learning tools that provide flexible and diverse listening materials. This study aims to explore students’ perceptions of using Spotify to improve their English listening skills. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews with students who actively use Spotify for listening practice. The findings indicate that Spotify supports listening development through its accessibility and diverse content, enabling consistent exposure to authentic English, enhancing vocabulary acquisition, improving pronunciation awareness, and strengthening overall listening comprehension in a more autonomous and engaging learning environment.
