Abstract
The low level of vocabulary mastery remains one of the main challenges in English learning at MAN 4 Besar, especially because students often perceive vocabulary materials as monotonous and difficult to remember. This condition encourages the need for more engaging learning media that relate to students’ daily lives, such as the use of songs.Thisstudy aimsto investigate how the song can improve students’vocabulary mastery. The research employed a qualitative method using observation, interviews, and documentation throughout the learning process. The findings indicate that the use of songs significantly helps students recall vocabulary more quickly through melody, rhythm, and lyrical repetition. Songs also clarify word meaning in context, enhance pronunciation, and increase students’ motivation and confidence.Students’ vocabulary test scores showed improvement, and they became more active in using new words during conversations and storytelling. Therefore, songs prove to be an effective medium for improving students’ vocabulary mastery.
