Neglect of Acts of Violence against Children Viewed from Law No. 35 of 2014 on Child Protection (A Study in Blangpidie, Southwest Aceh Regency)

This article explores and analyzes the neglect of child abuse cases under Article 76C of the Child Protection Law in Blangpidie. The study arises from the issue of weak legal awareness within society, where acts of violence against children are often ignored or left unreported. The research aims to assess the effectiveness of Article 76C enforcement and identify barriers to child protection. Using a qualitative method with an empirical juridical approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed descriptively and prescriptively. Findings reveal that although the legal norms are clear, binding, and valid, their implementation remains ineffective due to weak law enforcement, limited use of available facilities, and a permissive social culture. Consequently, child protection is not optimally achieved as the law loses its effectiveness in daily practice. The study recommends intensive legal awareness campaigns, strengthening law enforcement capacity, and establishing accessible reporting mechanisms to ensure the prohibition of neglect is effectively applied in society.
