The Concept of Leadership According to Tuan Guru Nik Abdul Aziz in Strengthening Da'wah Institutions

Leaders play a crucial role in strengthening institutions because they shape organizational norms, work culture, and the extent to which the public trusts the institution. This article aims to analyze the concept of leadership according to Tuan Guru Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat and assess how relevant this concept is to strengthening institutions. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method, analyzing various primary and secondary sources related to the thoughts, da’wah, and leadership practices of Tuan Guru Nik Abdul Aziz. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify the main themes in his leadership concept. The results show that Tuan Guru Nik Abdul Aziz’s leadership concept is grounded in Islamic values that emphasize trustworthiness, justice, consultation, exemplary conduct, and a service-oriented approach toward the community. These concepts are reflected in leadership practices that prioritize moral integrity, transparency in decision-making, human resource development, and transparent and accountable organizational governance. The implementation of these values contributes to strengthening organizational culture, improving the effectiveness of institutional governance, and fostering public trust in the institution. Furthermore, Tuan Guru Nik Abdul Aziz’s leadership concept is relevant to the needs of contemporary organizations facing challenges related to integrity, accountability, and public trust. Therefore, his ideas can serve as a reference for developing an ethical, inclusive, and sustainable leadership model across various types of organizations
