This research is about the use of media in improving students' speaking ability. The purpose of this reseacrh is to investigate the improvement of students' English speaking ability by using poster media and to figure out the research methodology used mix method, qualitative and quantitave. To gather the data questionnaire, interview, and observation techniques were employed. The questionnaire was participated by 35 students of VII-I class as the sample.The techer who taught English for group of students VII-I was interviewed. Both teacher and students were observed. The result of the reserach showed that using poster media able to increase students ability for students class VII-I. Based on the result and the fact found in the field, the writer concluded that the speaking ability of students MTsN 2 Banda Aceh increase due to poster media.
